Abu Dhabi Hospitality Academy – Les Roches opened in September 2024 through a partnership between the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi and Les Roches. The academy combines Swiss hospitality education with Emirati heritage, with a focus on developing the next generation of hospitality leaders.
Located in Abu Dhabi, the academy occupies a newly developed four-story building dedicated entirely to hospitality education. The technology environment had to be designed from the ground up as part of a wider development.
Advanced Integration Technologies (AIT), a leading ProAV integrator in the UAE, was responsible for delivering a variety of integrated and interconnected technologies across the building, with WyreStorm selected for key areas where reliability, ease of use and long-term flexibility were especially important.
The Challenge
As a brand-new development, the academy had no existing AV infrastructure in place. AIT therefore had to design and deliver the system from the ground up, working within a tight timeline and with very little room for trial and error.
The technology needed to be reliable from day one, easy for users to operate, and flexible enough to support very different environments.
The podcast studio needed dependable infrastructure for interviews and curriculum-based content creation, while the boardrooms and meeting rooms required a much simpler experience: users needed to be able to walk in, connect and start presenting without downloading software or dealing with a complicated setup. The challenge was to create the right experience for each space while keeping reliability and ease of use consistent throughout.
The Solution
AIT approached the project by looking at how each space would be used rather than applying the same AV setup everywhere.
Podcast Studio
One of the key areas was the academy’s podcast studio, which was designed to support interviews and curriculum-related content creation by both students and teaching staff.
The studio includes Canon cameras, Shure microphones and other professional production equipment, with WyreStorm extension and matrix switching technology forming part of the supporting AV infrastructure. Reliability was especially important in this space. During recording or production, the technology needed to work consistently in the background without interrupting the session or slowing users down.
WyreStorm’s role was therefore focused on providing a dependable signal path and switching infrastructure behind the production environment.
Meeting Spaces
In the academy’s boardrooms and meeting spaces, the priority was simplicity. Employees and executives wanted a plug-and-play experience without downloading software or going through a complicated setup process before a meeting could begin.
WyreStorm presentation switching, wireless presentation and video collaboration solutions were integrated with the Crestron control system and room cameras to create a more straightforward user experience.
The aim was simple: users should be able to enter the room, connect and start working without needing technical support in a fully integrated futuristic AV space. For a busy education and corporate environment, that ease of use was just as important as the underlying technical capability.
The Result
The completed installation gives Abu Dhabi Hospitality Academy – Les Roches a modern AV environment built around the way its key production and collaboration spaces are actually used. Students and educators have access to a dedicated podcast studio for interviews and curriculum-based content creation, supported by the reliable AV infrastructure needed behind the production workflow.
In the boardrooms and meeting spaces, the experience is deliberately simpler. Users can connect, present and collaborate without having to think about the technology behind the room.
For AIT, that balance between dependable infrastructure and straightforward everyday use was an important measure of success. “We had a very clear requirement on this project: the technology had to be reliable, easy to use and ready from day one. The solution gave us the confidence to deliver that across very different spaces, from the podcast studio to the boardrooms and meeting areas. For the academy, the result is technology that supports the work happening in each room without getting in the way of it.
