NEXO has expanded its amplification and processing portfolio with the microNXAMP4X1, a compact four-channel powered TD controller designed to provide a more flexible and cost-effective solution for its loudspeaker systems, particularly the P+ Series.
Sitting between the nanoNXAMP4 and NXAMPMk2 Powered TD Controllers in terms of power output, the microNXAMP4X1 brings together advanced signal processing, high-efficiency Class-D amplification and native Dante connectivity. Available in touring and fixed installation versions, it offers installers and rental companies a practical solution for a wide range of applications.
Flexible Power in a Compact Design
Despite occupying just 1U of rack space, the microNXAMP4X1 delivers considerable amplification flexibility. Its four Class-D channels each provide 1000W into 4 ohms and can be configured in series bridge mode, parallel mode for lower output impedance, or a combination of both to deliver up to 4000W through a single output.
These configurations can be managed entirely through software, eliminating the need for external adaptors and allowing users to tailor the amplifier’s performance to different system requirements.
The unit also features a 1.8-inch colour TFT display that provides essential operating information, including level meters and IP addresses. DSP parameters can be monitored and adjusted remotely through NEXO’s NeMo software.
Built for Long-Term Flexibility
At the heart of the microNXAMP4X1 are two multicore DSPs derived from NEXO’s flagship NXAMPMk2 platform. This processing architecture provides the capacity to accommodate future algorithms and firmware developments, helping users adapt their systems as requirements evolve.
A universal power supply supports continuous operation across mains voltages from 100V to 240V, making the amplifier suitable for international touring and installations. Power Factor Correction (PFC) technology improves power conversion efficiency while smoothing current draw to reduce stress on electrical networks.
Energy efficiency has also been considered. Standby power consumption meets ENERGY STAR certification requirements, while multiple wake-up options, including network commands, audio detection and front-panel activation, allow users to manage power consumption according to their operational needs.
For NEXO, the launch is particularly significant for users of its P+ Series point-source loudspeakers, offering a way to reduce overall system costs without compromising processing capability or configuration flexibility.
