At Sialkot Medical College, a single auditorium serves as the setting for academic lectures and medical seminars to official ceremonies, movie screenings and live performances. Each application placed different demands on the audio system, requiring speech to remain intelligible throughout the room while providing sufficient output and low-frequency reinforcement for music and multimedia programming. To accommodate those changing requirements, the college partnered with distributor and integrator KYAF Corporation to deploy Pakistan’s first JBL Professional BRX Series installation, supported by AKG microphones, Crown amplifiers and Soundcraft mixers.
Designed to accommodate approximately 500 people, Sialkot Medical College’s multipurpose auditorium plays an important role in the institution’s academic and campus activities. Throughout the year, the space transitions between lectures, presentations, seminars, formal ceremonies and entertainment programming, bringing together students, faculty, administrators and guests. While each event takes place within the same auditorium, the audio requirements can change considerably. A lecture demands clear, consistent speech reproduction across the audience, while a film screening or live performance requires greater dynamic range, low-frequency impact and monitoring for performers on stage.

For KYAF Corporation, the challenge was to develop a system that could meet those different requirements without compromising the auditorium’s primary role as an academic and presentation space. Rather than designing separate systems for speech and entertainment, KYAF developed a layered audio configuration that combined primary audience reinforcement, supplementary coverage, stage monitoring and dedicated microphone solutions. This allowed the college to accommodate a range of programming through a common audio platform while maintaining the flexibility required for day-to-day operation.
At the center of the installation, KYAF deployed eight JBL Professional BRX308-LA line array elements in two flown arrays of four, positioned on either side of the stage. The configuration provided primary reinforcement across the auditorium, establishing the foundation for the system’s speech intelligibility, consistent coverage and output requirements.
To accommodate programming that required greater low-frequency performance, KYAF paired the BRX arrays with two JBL Professional BRX325SP powered subwoofers. The subwoofers extended the system’s capabilities beyond speech reinforcement, providing dedicated bass support for music playback, movie screenings and live performances. Together, the BRX308-LA arrays and BRX325SP subwoofers gave the auditorium a system capable of moving between the clarity required for lectures and the fuller frequency response expected from entertainment programming.
Audience coverage also extended beyond the primary arrays. KYAF installed four JBL Professional VXP715 loudspeakers along the auditorium’s side walls, with two positioned on each side to provide supplementary reinforcement in areas requiring additional coverage. This allowed the team to address listening positions beyond the primary coverage of the BRX arrays, helping maintain a consistent experience for audience members throughout the room.

The system’s design also accounted for the different needs of presenters and performers. While the main arrays delivered audio to the audience, two JBL Professional EON712 powered loudspeakers served as dedicated stage monitors. For academic presentations and formal ceremonies, the monitoring system provided onstage reinforcement when required. During live programs and performances, the EON712 loudspeakers allowed performers to hear the audio independently of the main audience system, giving the auditorium additional flexibility without requiring a separate temporary monitoring setup.
Microphone selection was equally important to the college’s varied programming. For lectures and formal presentations, two AKG CGN321 STS microphones provided dedicated speech pickup, while two AKG WMS470 wireless microphone systems allowed presenters to move throughout the stage or interact with the audience. Two AKG D5 microphones supported vocal and speech applications, with six AKG P4 instrument microphones and one AKG P2 low-frequency instrument microphone extending the system’s capabilities to live music and other performance requirements.
A Soundcraft FX16ii mixing console provided control of microphones and program sources, allowing the auditorium’s audio inputs to be managed according to each event. Crown XTi 4002 amplification supported the system’s reinforcement infrastructure. Combined with the JBL Professional loudspeakers and AKG microphone package, these components gave the college a common audio platform for applications that ranged from straightforward speech reinforcement to multimedia playback and live entertainment.
For Sialkot Medical College, the completed installation delivered the versatility and clarity required across its different applications, while KYAF’s involvement extended from initial consultation and system selection through installation, commissioning and ongoing support.

“We are extremely pleased with the performance of the system installed by KYAF Corporation,” said Zeeshan Ahmed Butt, CFO and Head of IT at Sialkot Medical College. “The sound quality and clarity throughout the auditorium have been excellent, and the system has proven equally capable for speech, multimedia presentations, movie playback and live programs.”
Butt also highlighted the college’s experience working with KYAF throughout the project. “Our experience working with Mr. Ahmed Bawaney and the KYAF Corporation team was excellent,” Butt said. “From understanding our requirements and proposing the appropriate solution to installation, commissioning and subsequent support, the project was handled with professionalism and personal attention at every stage.”
Following the installation, Sialkot Medical College continued working with KYAF Corporation for its professional audio requirements, reflecting the relationship established through the auditorium project.
Beyond the individual installation, the project represented a milestone for JBL Professional and KYAF Corporation in Pakistan. As the country’s first JBL Professional BRX Series installation, the auditorium introduced the platform into a permanent educational environment where speech intelligibility, audience coverage and performance flexibility were equally important.
By combining JBL Professional BRX Series reinforcement with supplementary loudspeakers, stage monitoring, AKG microphones, Crown amplification and Soundcraft mixing, KYAF Corporation provided Sialkot Medical College with a flexible audio system capable of supporting its diverse academic, institutional and entertainment needs. The completed installation gave the college a common platform for the lectures, ceremonies and performances that bring its campus community together.
