Martin Audio has released DISPLAY 3, its next-generation 3D audio prediction and optimisation software, following an extensive beta programme. The latest release is designed to speed up system design and optimisation, allowing engineers to test and refine complex venue models more quickly while maintaining prediction accuracy verified to within ±1dB of real-world performance.
For Wavefront Precision line array systems, DISPLAY 3 combines mechanical angle optimisation with advanced DSP filtering to automatically configure arrays against user-defined SPL and frequency response targets. Faster processing allows designers to iterate through multiple configurations, compare results and refine system performance for specific venues and spaces.
The software also introduces enhanced voicing consistency across the Wavefront Precision range, maintaining a uniform tonal signature regardless of system configuration, scale or optimisation settings. Improvements to natural sound rejection behind and below the array further enhance control, while Martin Audio’s Hard Avoid® feature can extend rejection by up to 30dB or apply targeted control to areas such as rear walls, sensitive boundaries and other zones requiring reduced sound levels.

DISPLAY 3 also introduces a new “Don’t Care” designation, which lets users mark areas of a model where coverage and SPL targets do not apply. The optimisation engine leaves those areas out of the DSP calculation and works only on the areas that matter. Users can also create and store multiple optimisation snapshots, so a single model can hold separate settings for different audience or environmental conditions.
Beyond optimisation, DISPLAY 3 provides system prediction across the wider Martin Audio portfolio and integrates with SketchUp for venue modelling. Configurations can be uploaded directly to iKON amplifiers via VU-NET™, while the dedicated subwoofer array design tool has been retained with additional configuration options.

The release also coincides with VU-NET 2.3.5, which adds tools aimed at simplifying system verification and troubleshooting in large-scale deployments. LED Mode can illuminate Wavefront Precision cabinet LEDs sequentially or individually to confirm array order, while Mute Mode allows engineers to check audio routing cabinet by cabinet.
Engineers can also save a diagnostic file directly from any iKON amplifier on the network, capturing the unit’s stored internal state across fault and protection counters, configuration and performance history, which shortens the time spent tracing a fault. Performance improves significantly across ganging, metering, snapshot recall and large project trees.
DISPLAY 3 is available now as a free download for Mac and PC.
