Extron is expanding the toolkit for hybrid AV environments with the immediate availability of two new 4K/60 scalers designed to bring broadcast style connectivity into professional AV workflows.
The DSC 12G HD A and DSC HD 12G A support SDI to HDMI and HDMI to SDI conversion, giving system designers greater flexibility when integrating broadcast and production equipment with conventional AV infrastructure. Both models are powered by Extron’s Vector 4K scaling technology and support 12G SDI, 6G SDI, 3G SDI and HD SDI formats.
The new scalers are designed to expand system design options for integrating broadcast type equipment into professional AV environments, combining Vector 4K scaling technology with flexible audio capabilities and support for a range of applications.
Both models provide audio embedding and de embedding, seamless transitions for upstream switching, aspect ratio control and logo image display. Configuration is also designed to be straightforward, with front panel controls, intuitive on screen menus, Ethernet and USB connectivity, EDID management tools and internal test patterns.
Housed in compact 1 inch half rack enclosures, the new scalers are suited to applications where broadcast connectivity, flexible signal management and space efficient system design need to coexist.
Their arrival reflects the growing convergence between professional AV, broadcast and live production, where systems increasingly need to accommodate different signal formats and equipment without adding unnecessary complexity.
