At Baaroq—a stylish new culinary venue nestled in Mumbai’s bustling Andheri district—sound is more than just an ambient layer. It’s a core design element, intentionally woven into the very fabric of the guest experience. Spanning 3,500 square feet with seating for 120, this Pan-Asian and European dining concept embodies Baroque-inspired opulence, featuring black Italian marble, rich textures, and moody lighting to create a setting that seamlessly transitions from laid-back meals to energetic late-night gatherings.
Reflecting India’s growing hospitality trend of prioritising premium sound, Baaroq’s team approached audio as a storytelling device—one that sets the pace and enhances emotion throughout the evening. Tasked with delivering this elevated audio experience, VMT — the official distribution partner of Martin Audio in India—designed a complete soundscape using Martin Audio’s CDD and Blackline series.
“Baaroq represents a growing trend in India’s hospitality industry where audio is viewed as a critical part of the brand experience. The install features Martin Audio’s CDD15 and CDD12 loudspeakers, providing smooth, wide dispersion to ensure consistent coverage across the venue’s multiple zones. These are powered by British Acoustics 2XL and 2XM amplifiers, with a Delta 48X DSP processor offering precise EQ tuning and flexible zone control, making it easy for the venue to adapt sonically as day turns to night.
To anchor the low end, Martin Audio’s Blackline X218 subwoofers were selected for their deep, immersive bass, perfectly suited to the venue’s larger zones. These are complemented by Blackline X118 subwoofers, which deliver tighter, more directional low frequencies for high-traffic areas like the bar and lounge. This thoughtful dual-subwoofer configuration ensures a full-bodied yet nuanced sound signature that evolves with the venue’s vibe, be it smooth background grooves or high-energy playlists that fuel a party atmosphere.
