Interacting with the students of higher education, and more, in the technology-driven digital age, institutions need technology-powered solutions presented in a suitably sophisticated fashion. This assumes still higher significance when it relates with a university of technology education.
They need to display information about their programmes offered – besides their vision and mission – achievements of students, Faculty Members details, best practices, new initiatives and more. Posting all this information on bulletin boards in the waiting areas, elevator walls or other spaces is as it is an obsolete practice. More, it is taken to be contributing to clutter, adding no additional value to befitting the institution.
It was a similar situation for the thought leaders at Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (AKTU) one of the most reputed institutions of university education in India.
When AKTU wanted to upgrade its Lucknow campus with better dissemination methods, the decision makers wanted to explore efficient ways to communicate up-to-date information to students, visitors and faculty members. Traditional printed posters on the walls of high stakes technical university was taken to only add clutter and distract students from the warm and modern atmosphere that they wanted to create.
The solution considered was to streamline communication by using large active LED Displays or LED walls that presents information in a clear and organized manner. The LED display should be bright, vibrant, crisp and blend with the University décor, and meet their communication needs. The LED wall must contribute to bringing students, Faculty and visitors together in an inspiring space with advanced technology connect and help communication to reach the masses.
Delta Displays with a demonstrated experience in LED industry helped AKTU decide on their display requirement. Based on viewing distance, and space specifications, it was decided to install an LED wall with 3mm pixel pitch at the Reception Area that happens to be the most visited space. Delta installed an Indoor LED video wall having 3mm pixel pitch with a size of 13.12 ft wide and 6.56ft high in a quick timeframe.
“The new LED display is an important part of the overall Student-Visitor experience,” commented a Research Engineer at AKTU. “It offers a more structured and reliable way to share right information at right time to the right audience. And post-installation, we feel that visitors and students are connecting better and reading them and it’s a much better way of sharing communication to masses.”
The university can now easily display targeted communications and real-time alerts to students, visitors and faculty members. Visitors can easily know about the university, the achievements and decide on their admission.
