Just weeks after launching its first Asia Pacific Mentoring Programme, Rise AV APAC is taking the conversation to InfoComm Asia, where industry leaders and programme participants will share how mentoring is helping build confidence, develop future leaders, and strengthen businesses across the professional AV industry.
Hosted by the Rise AV APAC Regional Council, the fireside discussion comes as mentoring gains momentum across the region. While the APAC programme is only just beginning, it builds on the proven success of Rise AV’s long running UK initiative, where structured mentoring has delivered measurable results for both individuals and organisations.
Among UK participants, 98% reported greater professional confidence, while 90% felt better equipped to build meaningful professional relationships and become part of a stronger industry community. The programme has also helped participants improve communication skills, strengthen their professional profile, and accelerate career development, highlighting the value of mentoring beyond individual growth.
The discussion will examine how those same benefits can help shape the future of the Asia Pacific AV industry, where attracting, developing and retaining talent is becoming increasingly important.
Rise AV APAC’s inaugural mentoring programme has brought together 31 mentors and 31 mentees from Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia and India. Over the next six months, participants will take part in structured one to one mentoring, networking opportunities and professional development designed to support career growth at every stage.
Peter Hunt, Managing Director of Hewshott and Chair of the Rise AV APAC Regional Council, will moderate the session at InfoComm Asia. Joining him will be Sujith Sivaram, Managing Director of ESCO; Maureen Aw, Senior AV Manager at Marina Bay Sands; and Rise AV APAC mentees Jude Lam, Regional Sales Manager at Brompton Technology, and Rachel Jacobs, Senior Architect at Munro Acoustics.
Together, the panel will explore how mentoring helps women in AV develop confidence, expand professional networks and unlock new career opportunities. They will also discuss why mentoring is becoming an important business strategy for leadership development, employee engagement, retention and creating more inclusive workplaces.
Peter Hunt, Managing Director, Hewshott and Rise AV APAC Council Chair, said: “Mentoring has already shown in our UK programme how powerful it can be in building confidence, capability and connection across the industry. Bringing the conversation to InfoComm Asia allows us to highlight what we are now seeing take shape in APAC: a real appetite for structured mentoring and a shared understanding that investing in people is essential to the long-term strength of our industry. This isn’t just about supporting individuals, it’s about building better businesses and a more sustainable future for AV.”
Ahead of the panel, Rise AV APAC mentors, mentees and Regional Council members will host an informal meet and greet, giving attendees the opportunity to connect with the growing mentoring community before the discussion begins.
The event has been made possible with the support of Rise AV’s Global Headline Partner, QSC, alongside Silver Sponsors Lightware and ROE Visual, Bronze Sponsor Absen, and GPA, which is hosting the session during InfoComm Asia.
The fireside discussion is open to all InfoComm Asia attendees, including professionals looking to advance their careers, experienced leaders interested in becoming mentors, and organisations exploring new approaches to talent development.
