Mo-Sys is entering a new phase with a business restructuring, a new managing director and a striking new London headquarters designed to showcase how virtual production technology can extend beyond film and television.
The virtual production, camera robotics and image tracking specialist has completed its reorganisation and moved to a new three storey facility in Canada Water, one of London’s emerging technology and business districts. As part of the changes, commercial director Selin Kemal has been promoted to Managing Director, working alongside Founder and CEO Michael Geissler.
But the new headquarters is about more than providing a new home for the company. At its centre is a purpose-built presentation theatre designed to demonstrate how Mo-Sys technology can be applied to corporate communications, live events and broadcast production.
The flagship space can accommodate up to 120 delegates and combines immersive LED walls, projection, real time augmented reality processing, multi camera production and high capacity live streaming. The facility also includes green rooms and a roof terrace, creating a flexible environment for both physical and remote productions.
For Mo-Sys, the facility represents an opportunity to bring together technologies that have traditionally been associated with television and film and demonstrate their potential in the corporate market.
“What we are demonstrating in our new communications centre is that the same systems also have a key role to play in the corporate world, delivering high production values for launches, investor presentations and town halls, within a protected and confidential space,” said Michael Geissler, CEO of Mo-Sys.
The new facility will also serve as a working laboratory where Mo-Sys can test and develop new production concepts. Its first major event is scheduled for October, when the presentation theatre will host a TEDx event for around 120 people on site while reaching a global audience via streaming.
The restructuring also signals a shift in responsibilities within the company. With Kemal taking on the managing director role, Geissler will be able to devote more time to technology development and new concepts, including the evolution of the company’s communications facility.
