The Bantony Castle, originally the summer palace of the Maharaja of Sirmaur, has a rich history dating back over 140 years. Constructed in 1880, the main building of the castle showcases a unique blend of architectural styles, combining elements of the mock Tudor Style, chalet, and mini towers. Designed by TEG Cooper under the supervision of Raja Surender Bikram Prakash, the castle was built on the site where a cottage belonging to Captain A. Gordon once stood, serving as accommodation for army officers.
Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri recently inaugurated the projection mapping show at the Bantony Castle in Shimla. On this occasion, the DyCM and other dignitaries witnessed the spectacular show. The DyCM endorsed this endeavour in Shimla as a unique initiative that should be experienced not only by the people of Shimla but also by tourists. He emphasized that Bantony Castle, along with the city of Shimla, has its own history, which is portrayed in the Projection mapping Show. A special screening was held for media a well.

Shimla’s History Unveiled A highlight of the Bantony Castle complex is the mesmerizing Projection mapping Show. A first-of-its-kind production in Shimla. Using cutting-edge digital art technology. The show vividly portrays the history of Shimla, starting from its foundation at the historical site of Bantony Castle.
With captivating visuals and sound effects, the show takes spectators on a journey through time, recounting the city’s evolution up to the modern day. Renowned Bollywood actor Anupam Kher lends his voice to narrate the show, adding depth and authenticity to the storytelling. The Projection mapping Show is available in both English and Hindi versions, accommodating up to 70 spectators per viewing.
The show is produced by Tricolor India Shauspiel Pvt. Ltd. Himanshu Singh Sabharwal, Creative Director at Tricolor India, adds brilliance to the direction and breathtaking visuals of the show. His decades of experience in the sphere of film making, design and aesthetics is truly evident in each frame of the show, which has been carefully thought of to bring this visual spectacle to fruition.
