XR Summits Sdn Bhd, a home-grown Malaysian technology ecosystem platform, has announced that its flagship annual B2B event, the 4th XR Asia Summit 2027 (XRAS27), will take place from 20–22 January 2027 at the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS). The event was originally scheduled for December 2026 before being moved to its new January dates.
The pre-announcement marks the start of the build-up towards XRAS27, creating greater visibility and inviting industry, technology providers, partners, creators, educators, investors and talent from Malaysia and across APAC to be part of the upcoming Summit.
Since 2021, XR Summits has built an ecosystem spanning industry, technology, education, talent development and strategic partnerships. Malaysian-built, APAC-focused and globally connected, the platform combines local market understanding with regional and international technology expertise and opportunities.
At the heart of XRAS27 is the convergence of AI, XR, Spatial Computing, Spatial Media, Virtual Production and immersive technologies with industries that can put them to work, moving innovation beyond concept into practical solutions, real-world deployment, adoption and commercialisation.
“XR Asia Summit was curated in Malaysia to move innovation beyond conversation into real-world deployment. As a Malaysian-built, APAC-focused and globally connected platform, XRAS27 brings industry, technology and talent together to create meaningful opportunities,”said Louis Clovis, CEO of XR Summits.
The 4th XR Asia Summit 2027 will focus on three key areas: deployment-ready innovation, AI × XR convergence, and building future-ready talent for Malaysia and across APAC, while providing a platform for industry exchange, technology showcases, knowledge sharing and strategic collaboration.
The XR Asia Summit 2027 aims to create opportunities for Malaysia’s film and creative content industry to explore innovative technologies, build strategic collaborations and strengthen capabilities in virtual production and immersive content. By connecting local talent with regional and international technology partners, the summit can contribute to Malaysia’s development as an emerging hub for immersive technologies.
The Summit is supported by FINAS, the Ministry of Communications, Ministry of Digital, AI Malaysia, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Ministry of Higher Education, and the Tun Abdul Razak Broadcasting and Information Institute (IPPTAR).
