Gandhinagar, the capital of Gujarat, is a well-planned and modern city that stands as a testament to India’s progressive urban development, major events and trade show, exhibition and VVIP/VIP & investor are visiting the place many times.
With a view to increasing the city’s tourism potential and engaging the locals in a new genre of leisure entertainment that is powered by interactive audio-visual technology, the city civic administration – Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation (GMC) – initiated a project of creating artificial zoo in the CH-0 Circle park in the heart of the city.

Known for its natural beauty, recreational opportunities, and a big role in preserving the environment, the park serves as a bridge between the urban environment and nature, offering a place for relaxation and rejuvenation.
It was ideated to elevate the evening/night walk experiences of people in the park by creating a magical night walk park by means of breath-taking visuals with innovative lighting installation of a variety of wildlife.
Even as the idea being shaped into full conception, M/S White Energy Picovolt Private Limited – a locally-based lighting consultancy solutions provider known for their domain expertise – was roped in to bring their ideation to life.

“It was a great idea, so to say, to create such kind of recreation, and in a perfect sync of natural and technology blend,” says Dip Patel, Managing Director of White Energy. “We decided that it should be an interactive experience that invites visitors to engage with the natural world in new and exciting ways; the garden should respond to the movements and emotions of its visitors, creating a truly immersive and dynamic experience.”
According to him, whether one is seeking a solitude, an adventure, or a moment of connection with nature, a stroll in the ideated night park should be an unforgettable journey that beckons one to return again and again.
Night Walk Park is a serene recreational space designed for evening strolls, featuring well-lit pathways, lush greenery, and possibly self-illuminated art installations or themed lighting to enhance the ambience. Such a setting provides a pleasant escape from urban life, allowing people to enjoy nature and engage in leisurely activities like walking, jogging, or meditating under the stars.
“The variety of fauna glowing in the ambience of natural flora of the garden would be a mesmerizing spectacle to capture the fascination of visitors,” asserts Dip. “As night falls, the luminescent creatures come alive, transforming the already enchanting garden into a realm of wonder.”
As one wanders deeper into the park, one encounters interactive installations that enhance the experience. Self-Lit sculptures created with completely made-in-India materials stand proudly, each telling a story of sustainability and creativity. Illuminating the surrounding area and revealing hidden details.

The Glow Garden, therefore, is characterized by

With a view to further elevating the strolling experience of the ambience, the solution provider also installed a glowing flamingos and butterflies, sparkling among glowing trunks, roses, and bamboo shrubs.

The highlight of the night walk is the enchanted garden, where plants and flowers are adorned with tiny LED lights that mimic the twinkling stars above. It’s a feast for the eyes, with colors that pop against the dark backdrop.

This magical experience serves as a reminder of the beauty that exists in the world, even after the sun sets.”

The project was meticulously curated with materials supplied and integrated by Focus Lighting & Fixtures Ltd., under the guidance and expertise of Amit Sheth, Managing Director of M/s Focus Lighting & Fixtures Limited. The company’s involvement extends beyond installation, as it has been appointed for a two-year period to oversee the maintenance and continued performance of the lighting installations.
In close collaboration with the lighting consultant White Energy, the systems integrator successfully executed the project with deployment of advanced DMX technology.
“We achieved colors of our National Flag as a symbolic representation instead of conventional RGB,” says Chintan Shah, Vice President of Focus Lighting.
According to him, maintaining uniformity across double-head poles was a big potential challenge, but the team’s technical prowess ensured a seamless and harmonious lighting effect.
“Whether one is seeking a solitude, an adventure, or a moment of connection with nature, a stroll in the night park is an unforgettable journey that beckons one to return again and again,” sums up Dip Patel.
