Following the tremendous success at the InfoComm India show, which drew 8% more attendees than the previous edition, InfoComm shifted gear to Singapore.

On 21-23 Sep, the trade association representing the global professional audiovisual and information communications industry, hosted a sold-out InfoComm Cert Prep course in Singapore with support from Crestron Singapore.

The local representation included manufacturers, system integrators, as well as professionals from Singapore National Institute of Education and Institute of Technical Education. Electronics and Engineering Singapore sent nine of their staff with a goal to achieve APEx status for the company. Besides Singapore, a third of the 36 attending students were also from Chiangmai, Bangkok, Manila, and Hanoi. A lot of students’ compliments were directed towards the lively and effective instruction by Ranjit Singh, CTS-D; CTS-I, Senior Consultant of PTS Consulting Pte Ltd.

It was an exciting sight to behold. The prep class highlights the growth of the region and the demand for skill training driven by organizational leaders. As the industry expands, it is essential that the skill level of the workforce matures at the same time.

“It’s reassuring to see more and more of our peers recognized the importance of continued development and certification for their staff,” said Andy Tan, Regional Director, Asia.
