Organised by Sennheiser, the recent launch and demonstration of the P1 and SYVA from L-Acoustics was met with warm enthusiasm and an eager audience.
The SYVA co-linear source is a new breed of speaker, combining L-Acoustics’ line source heritage with plug-and-play simplicity. The SYVA features an elegant design, and is well suited for projects, events or locations that require discretion.
The SYVA features six 5″ MF speakers providing usable bandwidth to 87 Hz and three 1.75″ HF diaphragm compression drivers, loaded by DOSC waveguides in a J-shaped progressive curvature. This transducer arrangement produces an H/V 140° x 26° (+5/-21°) directivity pattern, optimized for ultra-wide horizontal coverage with extended throw capability. The SYVA covers 140º and up to 35 metres with consistent sound pressure, and can be pole or wall-mounted, or ground-stacked wherever needed.
The P1 is a measurement platform that combines in one unit an EQ station with delay and dynamics processing, and a multi-mic acoustic measurement platform with offline delay finder and EQ modelization.
The P1 allows bridging of AVB, AES/EBU and analog audio with time-aligned redundant signal distribution. The processor features a 4-bus matrix routing and mixing within the 20 in x 18 out architecture. The P1’s control and monitoring can be operated from the front panel user interface and is also fully integrated within the LA Network Manager.

During the presentation segment, participants were given a listening demonstration of the SYVA speakers. The launch culminated in a networking session that encouraged guests to walk around the room and experience how the speakers sounded from different angles.
