Home cinema specialists CSN Teknik recently carried out a custom installation for a private client in their native Denmark, completely updating the entertainment system in the living room environment.

At the outset, CSN Teknik managing director, Christian Sogren Nielsen, spent many hours with the customer to establish the requirement before designing the cabling architecture to ensure that all wires were hidden. Central to the new display is a 100” Supernova One Screen, fitted with 08-85 screen material, optimized for high contrast and extreme viewing angles.

The customer started off with a 100” white fixed screen, but had complaints about the picture quality when ambient light was admitted to their living room,” said Mr. Nielsen. “Then I demonstrated the Supernova 80-85 screen and they were immediately blown away with the much improved contrast and detail in the pictures.”

Having considered the Core model they eventually opted for Supernova One, favouring the sophisticated velvet frame design (which also helps mitigate projector reflections) – since they fully intend to have this screen in site for many years.

The screen is used in conjunction with a ceiling-mounted JVC HD 950 high-definition projector, while CSN Teknik have also installed in-wall speakers in the wall and ceiling, and resited all playback and processing equipment (such as AV receiver, Blu-ray player, TV set top box, Nintendo Wii and Sony PlayStation) in a separate dedicated rack room.

Full operation of all appliances has now been greatly simplified thanks to a single-touch Philips Pronto TSU9600 multi remote touch control.

After a couple of months of use,t he customer is delighted with the extreme picture quality offered by the dnp solution,” concluded Mr. Nielsen. “The decision to upgrade from the original white screen was one of the best they could have made – as they can enjoy TV and movies without having to completely darken the room.”
