By popular request of customers especially from those who missed the successful Shure Audio Workshop held also at the University Cultural Centre (UCC) in May 2007, Tim Vear obliged and Shure Asia Ltd and its local authorised distributor, Electronics & Engineering Pte Ltd (E&E) in association with Audio Engineering Society (AES) Singapore Chapter, brought him back in Singapore to the delight  of the eager audience who turned up at UCC for his whole day Shure Wireless System Workshop on 8 April 2009.

This second Shure Wireless System Workshop was well-attended by about 200 audio and AV specialists from systems integration groups, rental companies, schools, churches, broadcast organisations, government groups and hotels in Singapore and where Tim Vear had a live demonstration of the selection and operation processes of wireless microphone system UHF-R with multi-frequency bands ULX, SLX and PGX; and antenna setup with various characteristics among the following models HA-8089, UA870-WB, UA860-WB, UA830-WB, UA820.

Tim Vear conducted an interesting demonstration and explanation of the basic wireless microphone system, selection and operation of wireless microphone and PSM as well as antenna setup. He also shared with the participants the advances in wireless technology including DTV and digital wireless and showed the newest version of Wireless Workbench software, now compatible with Macintosh computers and allows users to easily scan, coordinate frequency, configure and control Shure wireless systems anytime, anywhere.

“The workshop is a testament of our unwavering support to our customers. We are privileged to be part of propping up their technical skills level; and whilst wireless microphone system technology keeps on improving, we ensure that we keep our customers abreast with all these advances,” said Mr. Ronald Goh, MD of Electronics & Engineering Pte Ltd and current president of AES Singapore.

“Positive feedback from customers during the workshop matched our aim to educate them on the wireless microphone system technology and more importantly to help them in the decision-making process. This is mainly a win-win situation for the company and our customers,” said Tracey Yap, Shure Product Manager of E&E.
“We mined Tim’s fantastic presentation of Shure Wireless System Workshop the last time so we can run this year’s workshop parallel to it so our customers can effectively understand the concepts and learn from him,” added Tracey.

Zul Mohamed, Sound Technical Manager of rental company CSP Productions Pte Ltd, said, “Overall, the workshop is very useful and informative. Thanks to Mr. Vear, he is an intelligent speaker.”

Senior Technical Officer of Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts Ricky Ng had this to say, “I particularly liked the part where the speaker explained and showed the audience the signal strength of wireless mic and a good placement of antenna. The workshop was well conducted and it was a perfect timing for me as the discussion on wireless mic selection is helpful on our decision to purchase some wireless microphone systems.”
