The organisers of Integrated Technologies Singapore (launched as EvenTech Singapore in 2008) have announced the cancellation of this years’ event. The two day trade show was due to be held at the Singapore Expo on 1-2 July. The main reason cited for this cancellation was ‘the prevailing economic climate’ within the industry, which in turn had led to a poor response from exhibitors, including the non-participation of several market leaders. “The global economic downturn has put the professional AV sector under unique pressure, thus creating a high level of uncertainty,” announced ITS show director Hanslee Azhar.
“The continued pessimism felt amongst both international manufacturers and
regional distributors has meant that many of the confirmed names ultimately
could not commit to a number of exhibitions this year. Ultimately, Integrated
Technologies Singapore is driven by the needs of its exhibitors, for whom many
have been forced to streamline sales and cut marketing costs.” The 2010 show
dates will be announced in due course. www.integratetechnologies.sg
